Giant Panda – Pastel Art

China’s endangered beauty

Legend has it that the Panda used to be a white bear until a tragic event, which saw them mourn, left them with the black markings we see today.

An endearing creature, they used to be given as gifts by the Chinese government to others until they realised their numbers were declining so rapidly there would soon be none left.  Still in great danger of becoming extinct today, through deforestation and habitat loss, the Giant Panda has become a symbol of hope for the animal kingdom around the globe.
